The World Is Changing Fast
In 2025, roughly 55,000 job cuts in the U.S. were attributed to AI adoption, according to Challenger, Gray & Christmas. The World Economic Forum projects that 92 million jobs worldwide will be displaced by automation by 2030 — though they also project a net gain of 78 million new roles. The numbers tell two stories at once: opportunity and anxiety.
That anxiety is real. Mercer's Global Talent Trends found that worker anxiety about job displacement rose from 28% in 2024 to 40% in 2026. People are not afraid of technology itself — they are afraid of being made irrelevant by it.
This is not a problem that will solve itself. If platforms and marketplaces do not actively work to protect the value of human expertise, the default outcome is clear: a race to the bottom where the cheapest option wins and quality disappears.
What I Believe
Technology should work for people, not instead of people.
Every person has knowledge worth sharing. A lawyer who spent 15 years learning their craft. A mechanic who can diagnose a problem by sound. A teacher who knows how to explain something so it actually sticks. That expertise has value — and it deserves a place where it is recognized, fairly compensated, and protected.
Plotalk's mission is to protect and celebrate human value by keeping a fair and transparent market.
What Fair and Transparent Means
Those are easy words to say. Here is what they mean in practice:
- Transparent fees. You will always know exactly what you pay and what we take. Our commission structure will be published and version-controlled. If it changes, you will know in advance.
- Honest moderation. Rules are public. Sanctions are graduated — a warning before a restriction, a restriction before a suspension. You can always appeal, and appeals are reviewed by someone other than the person who issued the sanction.
- Data privacy. We do not sell your data. We do not use third-party ad trackers. Your video calls are peer-to-peer — we do not record them. We explain in plain language what data we collect and why.
- Human-first design. Trust scores are built on a statistical model that explicitly tracks uncertainty — a new user is not "untrustworthy," they are "not yet known." The system rewards genuine contribution, not gaming.
On This Marketplace
On Plotalk, a buyer can also be a seller. A seller can also be a buyer. That is by design.
We do not prioritize one side over the other — because every person's expertise deserves the same respect, whether you are here to learn or to teach. The lawyer who books a session to learn about investing is just as important as the financial advisor on the other side of that call.
Most platforms optimize for one side. They extract from sellers to subsidize buyers, or vice versa. We think that is short-sighted. A marketplace works when both sides trust it — and both sides trust it when both sides are treated fairly.
You're Here Early
Plotalk is in beta. That means:
- Payment processing is not active yet. You can explore the community, build your profile, and participate in discussions — but paid sessions are not available during beta.
- Things will break. We are building in public, and your feedback is what shapes this platform.
- Features are still being added. What you see today is not what Plotalk will look like in six months.
If you are reading this page, you are not just a user — you are helping build something from the ground up.
A Promise to Our Beta Community
Being early should count for something. Here is what we are committing to for beta participants:
- Beta badges. Every account created during the beta period will receive a permanent badge recognizing your early participation.
- Bug bounty. Found a bug? Report it through the in-app tool. Meaningful reports that help us improve the platform will be recognized.
- Early community status. When the marketplace launches, beta participants who contributed to the community will have that history reflected in their trust profile.
What's Coming Next
- Web first. The web platform is our current focus. It works on desktop and mobile browsers.
- Mobile apps. Native iOS and Android apps are in development.
- Payment integration. Stripe-powered payments will be activated once the platform is stable and terms are finalized.
- Trust features. The trust system is live, but additional trust signals and display improvements are on the roadmap.
The Legal Stuff
We believe legal documents should be readable, not just technically compliant. Both our terms and privacy policy are written to be understood by the people they apply to — not just lawyers.
- Terms of Service — the rules for using Plotalk, including our commission structure, moderation policy, and your rights.
- Privacy Policy — what data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with (no one for advertising), and how to exercise your GDPR rights.
Both documents may be updated as Plotalk evolves. We will notify you of material changes.
Thank you for being here. If you have feedback, questions, or just want to say hello — we are listening.
Let's build something worth trusting.
